The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 on Wednesday set April 19 for submitting final investigation report on crimes against humanity allegedly committed by three accused, Salamat Ullah Khan, 80, Md Rashid Miah, 86 and Jakaria Sikdar, 82, from Maheshkhali, Cox’s Bazar, in 1971.
The ICT-2 set the date with Salamat and Rashid present on the dock. The duo was arrested on March 1, hours after the tribunal issued warrant against them.
According to the prosecution, the investigation agency has already started probe against the trio and found many evidences of their involvement in committing killings, abducting and confining people, torturing and looting during the liberation war in 1971.
On Wednesday, prosecutor Rana Dasgupta submitted progress report on investigation against them and sought time for submitting final report. The tribunal however, asked him about Sikdar, who is still at large.
“We had issued warrant against the three. Police arrested only two. Where is the other one? What do you know about his whereabouts?” the tribunal asked.

Then the tribunal asked the prosecutor to submit a comprehensive report on the ongoing investigation and about Sikdar on the next date.
