The 8th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) was held at Hotel Purbani International in the capital recently.
Mohammad Sanaullah, President of the institute presided over the meeting and tabled the Council report of the institute, said a press release.
Nazmul Karim , Treasurer of the Institute placed the Audited Financial Statements of the Institute for the year ended December 31, 2017.
The members approved the Council Report and Financial Statements of the Institute. The meeting also appointed M/s. A. Qasem & Co. Chartered Accountants (EY Bangladesh) as the external auditor of the Institute for the year 2018.
The President in his speech highlighted the major activities and achievements of the Institute. Among them successfully holding of 4th Corporate Governance Award programme, 20th anniversary, workshops and CPD programme on New Companies Act, Finance Act etc. More initiatives have been taken to develop the members to face the challenges in the corporate world.
He also pointed out that BSEC recently established Corporate Governance Code which will help the profession to explore in the Corporate Management. The President encouraged senior Members to go for private practice.
