The institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) organized a pre-budget discussion programme on National Budget 2015-16 at its auditorium on Wednesday.
Dr Mirza Azizul Islam, Former Advisor to the Caretaker Government was present as chief guest while Chowdhury Amir Hossain, Member (International Taxes) of NBR as special guest.
Economist Prof Abu Ahmed, Moazzam Hossain, Editor of The Financial Express, Khondaker Golam Moazzem, additional research director of CPD and ASM Shykhul Islam, president of ICMAB attended the discussion.
ICMAB proposed that the upcoming budget should be focused on the poor and potential youths of the country. There should be an announcement of tax holiday of ICT sector for next 10 years. To ensure overall development emphasis should be given on uninterrupted gas and power supply, good governance and accountability.
