ICMAB gets new President, secretary

Arif Khan FCMA and Md Abdur Rahman Khan FCMA have been elected President and secretary respectably of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) in its meeting held on Tuesday.
The Council also elected Jamal Ahmed Choudhury FCMA and Prof Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed FCMA as Vice-Presidents and Prof. Dr. Swapan Kumar Bala FCMA as Treasurer of the Institute.
Prior to his new role, Arif Khan FCMA was elected Vice President of ICMAB for two terms. He served the Institute as Secretary and Treasure in different terms. Khan also served as Commissioner of Bangladesh Securities & Exchange Commission (BSEC). Before joining the regulatory body, he served several national and multinational companies in different capacity. He was in charge of significant reforms initiatives of BSEC in the last four and a half years. He was also a member of the “Core Committee” of Bangladesh Bank for developing guidelines for “Domestic Factoring Operation in Bangladesh” and “Asset-Liability Management of NBFIs”. He was the first elected President of Bangladesh Merchant Bankers’ Association (BMBA). Besides his Masters in Finance from Dhaka University, he also obtain MBA designation from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of same University. Mr. Khan is a Charter holder of CFA Institute, U.S.A.
Jamal Ahmed Choudhury FCMA served as Vice-President and Secretary of ICMAB. He was also the Chairman of Dhaka Branch Council of ICMAB. He is the Executive Director, Accounts & Finance, Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd.- a leading Pharmaceutical industry of the country.
