The election of the Chittagong Branch council of Institute of Cost and Management of Bangladesh was held on March 9 last for the session of 2018. Quazi Merazuddin Arif FCMA and Saiful Islam FCMA have been elected as Chairman and Secretary respectively.
The council also elected Moazem Haider FCMA and Mr.Kanchan Chandra Shom as vice chairman and treasurer respectively. Noted that Quazi Merazuddin Arif now working as senior finance Executive of Chittagong Port Authority and Saiful Islam working as deputy general manager(accounts) of PHP Family. Meanwhile Moazzem Haider working as Managing Director of A4B Garments Ltd and Mr. Kanchon Chandra Shom working as Asstt. General Manager (accounts) in Padma Oil Ltd, sources said.
Youth held for raping minor : Police on Saturday arrested a young man for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl from Kolsi Dighirpar area of the port city. The arrestee was identified as Al Mamum, 28.
Sub-inspector of Port Police Station Aminul Islam said the victim along with her father, who was a local rickshaw puller and her garment worker mother, lived at a house, close to that of Mamun.
On Thursday afternoon Mamun took the girl into his room luring her to give chocolate when her parents were out for work.Later on Friday, the parents of the victim came to know about the matter and informed police.
