The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) organized a seminar on Tuesday at ICMAB Ruhul Quddus Auditorium, Nilkhet, Dhaka to commemorate the 31st Charter Day of SAARC.
The theme of the seminar was “Regional Cooperation: Need of the Day for Economic Development”. Member of Parliament, Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh was present on the occasion as Chief Guest.
Md. Shawkat Ali Waresi, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, presented the Keynote paper.
Abu Sayed Md. Shaykhul Islam FCMA, President of the Institute presided over the Seminar. Mohammed Salim FCMA, Chairman, Seminar and Conference Committee delivered the welcome speech while Secretary of ICMAB Md. Abdur Rahman Khan FCMA offered vote of thanks.
The speakers opined that under the changed global socio-political and economic scenario no country in South Asia could grow alone. They underscored the need of both regional and global cooperation; particularly economic cooperation for achieving sustainable development targets and eliminating poverty in the SAARC countries.
