The three-day 4th International Conference titled “Developments in Renewable Energy Technology (ICDRET-2016)” began on the United International University (UIU) campus on Thursday. It will end on January 9.
Nasrul Hamid, MP, State Minister for Power, Energy & Mineral Resources inaugurated the conference as the chief guest while Vice-Chancellor of UIU Professor Rezwan Khan presided over the programme.
Vice Chairman of Board of Trustees of UIU and Managing Director of United Hospital Limited Faridur Rahman Khan was present the programme as special guest.
Chair of Technical Committee of the university Professor A K M Sadrul Islam, Co-Chair of Technical Committee Professor S M Lutful Kabir, Co-Chair of Organizing Committee Shahriar Ahmed Chowdhury and Head of EEE Department Professor Raqibul Mostafa, addressed the function, among others.
UIU is hosting ICDRET for the 4th time keeping the rich tradition of hosting it since 2009. The conference has been supported through partnerships from globally renowned institutes in renewable energy that include Oldenburg University, Germany, Kathmandu University, Nepal, Centre for Energy and Global Environment, Virginia Tech, USA, Micro Energy, Germany, TERI, India, BERG and OREL from USA, Seris and National University of Singapore, Singapore. The Daily Star was the strategic partner for this conference.
