ICC World Cup kicks-off today

The 12th edition of theICC World Cup Cricket begins today in England, the home of cricket. Hosts will take on South Africa in the curtain-raiser of the gala extravaganza at the Oval in London at 3.30pm BST (Bangladesh Standard Time).
A total of ten teams will take part in this year. They are: Hosts England, Australia, New Zealand, India, South Africa, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, West Indies, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
The first phase of the mega event will be held on round-robin league basis. Top four teams will sail into semifinals.
The largest cricket event will come to an end on July 14.
The World Cup Cricket started in the year of 1975. England reached the final thrice but never won the cup.
On the other hand, South Africa played in the last four for four times but did not cruise into the final even.
England, which team are now the Number One, according to latest ICC ODI ranking, have batsmen like Ben Stokes, Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow and bowler like Jofra Archer.
South Africa, one of the powerhouses of world cricket have batsmen like Hashim Amla, Faf du Plessis, JP Duminy. The Proteas have bowlers like Kagiso Rabada and Imran Tahir.
