Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team beat Papua New Guinea (PNG) Women’s Cricket team by six runs (according to D/L Method) in a rain-interrupted match of the ICC Women’s Twenty20 World Cup (WC) Qualifiers at Dundee in Scotland on Monday.
Sent into bat first, Bangladesh Women scored 103 for the loss of eight wickets in 16.3 overs.
Later, PNG had a target to score 59 runs to win in eight overs.
But PNG were restricted to 52 for the loss of five wickets in eight overs.
Nahida Akter and Ritu Moni played the key role to restrict PNG to 52/5.
Nahida Akter grabbed three wickets at the cost of 10 runs, while Ritu Moni bagged a couple of wickets instead of nine runs.
Earlier, Fahima Khatun top-scored with unbeaten 32. She hit five fours in her 18-ball innings.
Besides, Sanjida Islam and Fargana Haque added 19 and 11 runs respectively to the Bangladesh total.
S Jimmy of PNG captured three wickets at the cost of 10 runs, while R Oa bagged a pair of wickets instead of 17 runs.
Besides, NM Ambo got one wicket conceding 17 runs. Bangladesh will face Scotland today.
