Sports Reporter :AHM Mustafa Kamal announced his resignation from the post of President of International Cricket Council (ICC).Mustafa Kamal returned to the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from Australia on Wednesday and at a press conference held at the VIP Lounge of the Airport announced his decision in front of a good number of journalists.Kamal disclosed the reasons of his resignation and said his decision was ‘final’ and ‘not negotiable’.Kamal announced resignation over the top cricket body’s denial to let him hand over the trophy to the champions of the ICC World Cup Cricket 2015. He said, ” According to the clause 3.3 of the constitution of ICC, only the President has the right to give away the trophy to the winners of the final of ICC World Cup Cricket. I was supposed to hand over the trophy to the champions after the final of World Cup Cricket on March 29. But I couldn’t do that.”He claimed he was not allowed to hand over the trophy to the Captain of the champions after the final as an issue was raised of his comments after the controversial decisions of the umpires between the quarter-final match of Bangladesh and India.After announcing his resignation, Mustafa Kamal said, “From here on, I shall speak as the former president of ICC. It is impossible for me to work with those who are used to violate the constitution of ICC. I intend to let the people of the world know this.”He said he was told to withdraw his speech after he had criticised the controversial decisions of the umpires during the quarter-final match of Bangladesh and India.Mustafa said, “He would step down as president, if needed.”Then a massive spat was raised between Mustafa Kamal and Chairman of ICC Srinivasan, who violated the constitution of ICC and handed over the champions trophy to the winning team of World Cup final Australia on March 29 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.Kamal asked the journalists the man (Srinivasan), who is so controversial to the people of his country, if he would be the Chairman of ICC, how the cricket would go forward.He blasted those in the top cricket body as ‘ugly people’.
