The International Cricket Council will seek an explanation from the Sri Lankan sports ministry for appointing an interim committee to run the country’s cricket board.
The ICC board, which met on Thursday, discussed whether the appointment of an interim committee in Sri Lanka Cricket “may be a breach of ICC’s constitution which requires free and fair elections for office-bearers within member boards.”
On the recommendation of its governance review committee, the ICC board says it will write to Sri Lanka’s sports ministry “seeking a full and proper explanation of its intervention.”
