ICC, IBCCI sign MoU to identify trade barriers

Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI) on Saturday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to work together to identify trade barriers and address those for boosting trade between the two countries.
ICC President Roopen Roy and IBCCI President Mohammad Ali exchanged the MoU document in presence of Paschimbanga Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at a special business session at Sonargaon Hotel in the city.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed and Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Pankaj Saran were also present.
Bangladesh-India bilateral trade is close to $6 billion and Bangladesh exports less than $500 million despite enjoying duty-free market access to India.
