Masih Malik Chowdhury was elected president of the council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh for 2015, ICAB said in a statement on Saturday.
AF Nesaruddin, Kamrul Abedin and Nasim Anwar were elected as vice presidents for the same year.
The election took place shortly before the institute’s 42nd annual general meeting at the ICAB, chaired by outgoing president Showkat Hossain on Saturday.
Chowdhury has stayed in the ICAB Council since 2004 and served as a vice president in 2005. He is the founder partner of Masih Muhith Haque & Co, a chartered accountant firm, since 1985.
Nesaruddin, a council member for the first time in 2013, is a partner of Hoda Vasi Chowdhury & Co. He has been working for different standing and non-standing Committees of ICAB for many years since 1984.
Abedin is a partner of MJ Abedin & Co, which is an independent member firm of Moore Stephens International Ltd. He has been serving the firm for more than 28 years.
Anwar has been in the Council since 2007 and served as vice president for more than one term. He is also a director of Telephone Shilpa Sangstha.
