Ibrahim re-elected Kallyan Party Chairman

Bangladesh Kallyan Party, a partner of the BNP-led 20-party alliance, announced its new committee at the party’s tri-annual national council and 8th founding anniversary programme held at the National Press Club in the city on Saturday.
Major General (Retd.) Syed Muhammad Ibrahim Bir Protik has been re-elected Chairman, while MM Aminur Rahman has been elected Secretary General. Earlier, Aminur Rahman was acting secretary general of the party.
Syed Ibrahim announced the names of the new executive committee members of the Kallyan Party. Iqbal Hasan Mahmud, Tahir Mahmud, Azad Mahmud and Mrs. Forkan Ibrahim have been made new standing committee members, while Engr. Farid Khan, Matiur Rahman, Syed Mohammad Manjur Islam, Bani Amin, Mohammad Ilias, Shahidur Rahman Tamanna, Badrudduzza Rasul and Lt Col (Retd.) Nuruddin have been made Vice-Chairmen. Syed Ibrahim also announced the names of members of the advisory council.
The Kallyan Party Chairman inaugurated the founding anniversary programme in the morning by hoisting national flag and releasing balloons.
BNP standing committee member Lt General (Retd.) Mahbubur Rahman, Vice-Chairman Maj (Retd.) Hafizuddin Ahmed Bir Bikram, Jubo Dal President Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal and President of Swadhinata Forum Abu Naser Mohammad Rahmatullah, among others, joined the programme.
Addressing the function, Hafiz Uddin Ahmed said that the 20-party alliance would come to power soon. The 20-party alliance will come to power within short-time through ballot or street movement,” he said.
