Terming the national budget for fiscal 2015-16 as courageous, optimistic and challenging, International Business Forum of Bangladesh (IBFB) has put emphasis to enhance the skill of public administration and bring accountability towards implementing the budget.
“The government through the budget has dreamt of taking the country towards industrialization ignoring the import dependency which is very optimistic for us,” said Hafizur Rahman Khan, President of IBFB, at a post budget press conference at the National Press Club Monday.
He said in the new budget, lots of initiative have been taken to safeguard the locally production oriented industry by withdrawing tax and duty, which would also help develop new industries as well as employment generation.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith on Thursday unveiled the national budget of Taka 295,100 crore for fiscal 2015-16, where revenue collection target has been set at Taka 208,443 crore.
Former IBFB President Mahmudul Islam Chowdhury, Vice President Humayun Rashid, former tariff commission chairman Mozibur Rahman, IBFB director M S Siddiqui and executive director Abdus Salam, among others, were present.
