Chittagong Bureau :Nurul Islam BSc is a leader of clean image of Chittagong City Awami League and he is only dedicated leader for the party and involved with AL for the last three decades. Moreover, Nurul Islam Bsc has wide acceptance to the people irrespective of caste and creed. He achieved multiple reputation in Chittagong in education sector, healthcare and social activities and had large contribution for these three sectors.He contested in national parliament many times but was elected MP in 2008 elections from Kotwali and Boalkhali constituency. But in last election, he did not contested the polls due to JP’s candidate in that constituency. Lastly before Eid festival, Nurul Islam Bsc was assigned as Minister for Overseas Employment and Welfare as technocrat minister. After return from Dhaka he appeared before the media men and said he will sacrifice his life for the development of the port city in all respects. He also emphasized the need of technical know-how persons for sending abroad and said there are 40 vocational training centre in the country and our unemployed youths should be trained in these centres for brining stillness. He also discouraged the flight of Bangladeshis through illegal ways with human traffickers’s patronization. He also expressed hope to extend cooperation to newly election city mayor AJM Nasiruddin and CDA Chairman Abdus Salam for the upgrading the port city into commercial capital, sources said.
