Gonojagoron Mancha spokesperson Imran H Sarker said that he has been put on handcuff after blindfolded with black clothes while taking him to the local office of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
The RAB members picked up him in filmy style without any warrant of arrest order issued against him.
Imran said this in a press briefing at Sagor-Runi Auditorium in the city’s Segun Bagicha on Thursday afternoon.
“The elite force personnel eased my eyes and handcuffs before questing me in presence of senior officials of RAB at the Headquarters of RAB-3,” said Gonojagoron Mancha leader.
They asked me about the motive of the movement of the Gonojagoron Mancha and its necessity, he said.
They also contacted with Imran’s sister and brother and handed me to them around 11:00pm on Wednesday, said Imran.
Meanwhile, in a written statement, Chhatra Union President J M Jilani Shuvo protested the exytra-judicial killing across the country criticizing the arrest of Imran from city’s Shahbagh area on Wednesday.
He urged law enforcers to stop the killings of people over 146 and demanded to form a high profile probe body lead by a judge of High Court Division to investigate the incidents.
Human Rights Activist Khushi Kabir, Udichi General Secretary (GS) Anowar Tapan and Chhatra Union GS Liton Nandi among others were present in the briefing.
Earlier, Imran was released nearly seven hours after he was detained by the RAB personnel.
