Sheikh Arif Bulbon :“Rupali was my childhood friend. I still miss her,” popular film actress Mahiya Mahi said this yesterday. Mahia Mahi and Rupali studied together in same school. When they were students of Class VI Rupali died. She got electrocuted. That accident took place on Mahi’s birthday. From that time to till now Mahi did not celebrate her birthday on that day. Today is birthday of Mahi. After working in media, this situation did not remain same. Though Mahiya Mahi herself does not arrange any programme to celebrate her birthday but her well-wishers organise party. Mahi doesn’t like it. For this reason, on her birthday today Mahi will go outside Dhaka. She will leave the capital without any notice by driving own car.While talking about her birthday Mahiya Mahi told this correspondent, “In my childhood birthdays, I enjoyed a lot. After died of Rupali I didn’t celebrate my birthday. I did not like it. I always pray for the salvation of her departed soul. In fact, Rupali was my best friend. Her vacuity is not fulfilled till now. I still miss her.” To celebrate her birthday, Mahiya Mahi requested all to pray for her as she can successfully work in showbiz. Right now she has three movies. These are: Meher Afroz Shawon’s Krishnopokhkho, Dipankar Dipon’s Dhaka Attack and Malek Afsari’s a movie, she said.It may be mentioned that Mahiya Mahi acted last released movie was Iftekhar Chowdhury’s Agnee-2. Therefore, her acted another movie Onek Damey Kena, directed by Zakir Hossain Raju, is waiting to release soon, Mahi mentioned.
