District administration has decided to turn water hyacinth remaining stagnant at different points of Kaptai Lake to organic fertiliser, Shamsul Arefeen, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rangamati said Sunday.
Addressing a discussion meeting DC said Water hyacinth apparently a curse to the people of the district can play a vital role in the district after turning it to fertiliser, said DC at a meeting on hyacinth problem held today at his office.
Among others, additional district commissioner Mostafa Zaman, Manager of Karnaphuly Hydro Station (KHS), Engineer Abdur Rahman and Manager of Karnaphuly Paper Mills Mosadderul Islam took part in the discussion.
