HuT man hurt in clash with cops in city

An activist of banned Islamist outfit Hizb-ut-Tahrir sustained bullet injury during a clash with the law enforcers in city’s Mohammadpur area on Friday afternoon. The injured man has been identified as Mohammad Nafis, 38, a resident of Mohammadia Housing Ltd, police sources said.
Mohammadpur Police Station’s Sub-Inspector (SI) Razib Mia said that the activists of Hizb-ut Tawhid brought out a sudden procession in the area after Jummah prayer. Police rushed into the place on information and tried to disperse them. At one stage the agitated activists of the
party locked into a clash with the law enforcers and hurled cocktails, brick chips aiming them. After that police opened fire, leaving Nafis injured critically. He received bullet injuries on his back and at leg. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), the SI said.
