An activist of the banned Islamist militant outfit Hizbut Tahrir, released on bail from Chittagong jail, was arrested again at the jail gate on Thursday .
Detective Branch (DB) of the Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested the Hizbut activist Mohammad Ali, 28, immediately after his release from Chittagong central jail around 10.30am.
Mohammad Ali was shown arrested in a case filed under Anti-terrorism Act and handed over to city’s Kotwali police station, said SM Tanvir Arafat, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of DB, CMP.
On December 6 in 2014, police arrested Ali and six other Hizbut activists in front of Anderkilla Jame Mosque while distributing leaflets among the devotees after Jumma prayer.
