A court here on Thursday convicted a man and sentenced him to death for killing his wife in 2005.
Lal Chan, son of Munnaf Pal of Shyamnagar village in Singair upazila, married Salma Begum in 2003 and had been torturing her since then for dowry, according to the prosecution.
On February 4, 2005, Lal Chan and his father beat up Salma mercilessly and strangled her to death.
Later, victim’s brother Hashem Ali filed a case with Singair Police Station.
