A Barisal court on Monday sentenced husband to death for killing wife and released another two accused from charges as they were not found guilty.
The death sentenced accused was Shah Alam Haoladar, son of Abdul Mannan Haoladar, of Bishar Kandi under Banaripara upazila of Barisal district, also fined Tk. 10 thousand.
Anwarul Haque, district and session judge of Barisal handed down this verdict in presence of the accused under section 302/34 of penal code examining 10 out of 13 witnesses and other evidences and documents.
The court also acquitted Yusuf Haoladar and Shaida Begum, two other accused from charges founding them not guilty, said Advocate Gias Uddin Kabul, district public prosecutor expressing his satisfaction about the verdict.
However death sentenced husband Shah Alam denying the killing claimed ‘ I did not know anything about the death of my wife Laizu’.
