A housewife was stabbed to death allegedly by her husband in the city’s Pallabi area on Friday.
The victim was identified as Helena Akhter, 27, wife of Iman Ali, a day-labourer. The couple had been living at a rented house in the area. Dadan Fakir, officer-in-charge of Pallabi Police Station, said Helena had an altercation with her husband over a trifling matter in the afternoon.
At one stage, Iman stabbed her with a sharp weapon, leaving her critically injured.
Helena was first taken to a local hospital and later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead around 4:45pm, added the OC. Police arrested Iman over the murder.
