A husband has reportedly killed his wife over his extra-marital relation in Shahbazpur village under Durgapur upazila of the district in early hours yesterday, police and local sources said. The deceased was identified as Rawshan Ara, 25, wife of Amzad Ali.
Police detained Amzad Ali over the killing incident yesterday morning.
Selina Begum, mother of the victim, told local journalists that Amzad Ali hailing from Narsingdi district married Rawshan Ara about ten years ago. Since then, he has been staying in his father-in-law’s house.
Three years back, Amzad Ali developed extra-marital relation with a woman working in a garments factory in Dhaka and a conflict has been continuing between the husband and wife over the relation since then.
Last night, they got locked in an altercation and at one stage Amzad Ali killed Rawshan Ara by pressing pillow on her mouth.
