One Moksed Mallik (60) of village Khalishakhali within Maghia Union Parishad under Kachua Upazila in Bagerhat met his tragic end when his mentally imbalanced wife Emily Begum hit on his head with a lethal weapon without any reason on Saturday evening, according to a report received here.
Locals informed , in the evening (at about 7 pm) the ill-fated husband was chewing betel leaves in the corridor after saying the Magrib prayer. But at that time his mentally imbalanced wife who was cooking rice in the kitchen all on a sudden appeared there and hit on his head with force. As a result, the husband was fatally injured. He was at first admitted to Kachua Upazila Health Complex for his treatment. But considering his precarious conciliation he was shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at 12 pm while he was undergoing treatment. After completing the postmortem examination in the Khulna Medical College morgue the dead body was brought back to his residence. On information, Md. Iqbal Hossain, Officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Kachus PS visited the place of occurrence.
