Husband Anowar Hossain Khan, 56, a petty businessman of Kalu Shah Sarak under ward 14 of the city, has been killed by hit of a brickbat thrown by his wife Liza Begum during a family feud on Wednesday morning.
Anowar was son of Aftab Hossain Khan and Liza was daughter of Shahjahan Khan.
Nur Hossain, brother of the deceased, said family life of Anowar was very disturbed and he became injured by hit of a brickbat thrown by his wife Liza and declared as dead after brought to Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital.
Sub Inspector Shamim Khan of Barisal Kotwali police station, visiting the spot quoting witnesses said hearing the death declaration wife and father in law fled from the hospital and till this report no case was lodged, nor any body arrested.
The dead body of the victim preserved at the morgue for autopsy.
Naima Khatun, a class four student of the local Alekanda primary school, said his brother class two student Naim wanted money for purchasing exercise book and Naima wanted money for breakfast from their father.
The demands made Anowar agitated and he beat Naim and rebuked Naima saying that he has no money.
Over this issue their mother engaged in quarrel with father Anowar. Then mother called their maternal grandfather Shahjahan to make justice.
After Shahjahan came to the spot, Anowar beat Liza in front of her father and Shahjahan also humiliated in front of his daughter.
Then Liza collecting a brickbat hit Anowar throwing that and Anowar became injured and brought to hospital by the relatives and locals, daughter Naima told.
