Police have arrested husband Lemon Mia, (35) accused in the murder of housewife China Begum (25) in the Jamalpur district under the Melandha upazila.
Lemon Mia is the son of Alfaz member of Paharipatal village in Melandah upazila. China Begum is the daughter of Sohrab Ali of Shyamganj Kalibari in Madarganj upazila. They have one child in their house. On May 7, Lemon’s wife China Begum was tortured to death and her body was hung in the kitchen house.
Officer-in-charge Maynul Islam said, Limon Mia and his relatives went into hiding after the murder. He was arrested from Gazipur in Dhaka on the last night of June 17 on the basis of secret information. The invoice was issued in the court on June 18. A 7-day remand has been sought.
