A female teacher named Khairun Nahar, 42, who married a 22-year-old college student, has been found dead at her rented flat in Boladipara area of Natore district town
Being informed, police recovered the body of victim on Sunday morning. The law enforcers also detained her husband Mamun, 22, in this connection.
The victim was an Assistant Professor of Philosophy department of Khubjipur Mozammel Haque Degree College in Gurudaspur upazila of the district.
Nasim Ahmed, Officer in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station confirmed
the matter to the New Nation that other than the previous marriage, the victim teacher had another love affair with another youth. After second marriage with the student, victim continued the contact with that immediate past boy friend. As a result, a new family feud started among them and which may be the reason of suicide, OC added.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Liton Kumar Saha said, “Khairun Nahar and her husband were together at the night. Mamun, husband of the college teacher, went out around 2:00am. Later, he returned home and found his wife hanging from the ceiling fan. At the moment, he did not find anything sharp at hand, so he lit a fire with a lighter and burnt the scarf and brought her body down.”
He further said, “Gateman of the house also gave us such information. But why Mamun went out late at night, it is not yet known. The dead Khairun Nahar has marks in her neck, but there is no injury anywhere else in her body.”
