A court here on Monday sentenced a young man to life imprisonment for killing his wife in Jibannagar upazila one year back.
District and Session’s Judge Md Rabiul Islam announced the verdict in the afternoon. The convict was identified as Sujan Mia, 28, son of Rezaul Karim of Pathila in the upazila.
According to the prosecution, Sujan strangulated his wife Runa, daughter of Badar Uddin of the upazila, to death on October 25 last year following a family feud.
Later, police arrested him responding after a case was filed by the victim’s father with Jibannagar Police Station.
