A case was filed against eight persons in connection with the suicide of model and actress Joya Shil alias Mithila Roy with Bondor thana in the port city.
Sources said, Joya Shil alias Mithila Roy allegedly committed suicide on February 3 her father’s residence at Barik Building area in the port city. The relatives found her body hanging with fan and later she was cremated by her family members.
Later, the family members found a suicide note of the victim Mithila Roy, who was an actress and model. Mithila Roy alleged in her suicide note that her husband, mother in-law and other relatives of her husband used to harass her every day which was the prime cause of her suicide.
Swapon Shil, the father of the victim told the journalists that his daughter Mithila Roy married one Utpol Roy of Fatikchari without permission of the family.
Later, they were living in Dhaka. However, Mithila Roy came to her father’s home in Chittagong on Thursday and committed suicide on February 3.
Officer in Charge of Bondor thana Mainul Islam said, Swapon Shil, the father of the victim Mithila Roy filed against eight persons in connection with the suicide of his daughter.
The case was filed against eight persons including the husband of Mithila Roy. Police will take action in this connection.
