Mother-son murder: Husband-3rd wife put on fresh remand

A Dhaka court placed Abdul Karim and his third wife Sharmin Mukta on a three-day fresh remand each in a case filed for killing a mother and her son in city’s Kakrail area.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Amirul Haydar Chowdhury passed the order on Friday. Earlier, Ali Hossain, sub-inspector of
Ramna Police Station, and also the investigation officer of the case, produced the accused before the court seeking seven days fresh remand. On, November 3, the court placed Abdul Karim and his third wife on 6-day remand in a case over the killing. On November 1, Shamsun Nahar, 46 and her son Shawon, 19, were found dead in a flat of a multi-storey building in the city’s Kakrail area. On information, police went to the spot and recovered their bloodstained bodies. Later, Ashraf Ali, brother of victim Shamsun Nahar, filed the case accusing Abdul Karim, Sharmin Akhter Mukta, her brother Al Amin alias Jonny, 33.
