Bandar Rakkha Parishad , Chittagong will enforce day long hunger strike at Bandar Bhaban today to press home their demands of abrogating all types of deals with the illegal berth operator Saif Power Tec.
In this connection, a preparatory meeting was also held yesterday with its convenor and former Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury in the chair.
The meeting expressed concerned over the non-enforcing any types of actions ag ainst the Saif Power as yet. Mohiuddin Chowdhury told that all sorts of agreement for ICD, CCT and NCT of Chittagong Port should be cancelled immediately.He further mentioned that Saif Power is the agent of ISI and disseminating the secrecy of the port to abroad through this agent and Saif Power is also working as agent of home and international clutches which is most harmful for the country.
He also mentioned that Saif Power has been entrusted with port operating activities without any tender bidding with best interest of a section of dishonest officials of the port authority.
The meeting also announced dawn to dusk hunger strike in Bandar Bhaban today and public meeting at Laldight on September 10 next.
Among others, panel mayor Md. Hossain, councilor Giasuddin, member secretary of BRP Mahfuzur Rahman , AL leader Abu Taher, Sultan Ahmed, Md. Hasan, Abdul Mannan, General Secretary Sramik League Mahbubul Hoque Chowdhury, Sramik leader Abul Hossain, President of Bandar Karmachari Parishad Momtazuddin, General Secretary Wahidullah Sarker, President of Dock Sramik Md. Iskander, President of Stevedors workers union Mofizur Rahman, General secretary C&F Agents Sramik Union Sajjadur Rahman Bachchu, President of Mercent Sramik Union Md. Mohiuddin, General Secretary Abul Bashar, Presdient of BSC Seamen Association Sirajul Islam, General Secretary of Marine Contractors Welfare Samity Monir Hossain, Secretary of Loading and Unloading Sramik Union Md. Selim were present on the occasion, a sources said.
