Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun on Thursday sought Japanese support to ensure uninterrupted production in the Chittagong Urea Fertiliser Factory Ltd (CUFL) through renovation.
“Japan’s Toyo Engineering Corporation established the factory and it has been producing fertilizer for long. Due to technical problem in the reactor, production of the factory is hindered,” he said during a meeting with Japanese Ambassador in Dhaka Naoki Ito at the Industries Ministry in the city.
In the meeting, they discussed various issues, including diversification of sugar industry, modernisation of the fertilizer factory, training for creating skilled manpower and automobile and light engineering.
