Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun on Wednesday left here for Beijing to join the Second Belt and Road Forum (BRF) for International Cooperation.
The three-day high level Belt and Road Forum will begin tomorrow at China National Convention Centre (CNCC) in Beijing, the capital of China, said a ministry release.
The heads of the state and government, ministers and high-ups from over 100 countries and international organisations will take part in the forum.
They will discuss policy issues to overcome weak and unstable global economy, infrastructural development and trade expansion. They will identify bilateral and multilateral economic cooperation and increase people to people contract as well in 12 thematic sessions.
The industries minister will represent Bangladesh in different thematic sessions. Besides, he will meet the high officials of the SINOPEC Lubricant Company Limited and Shanxi Yangmei Fertilizer Industry Company Limited.
Humayun is likely to return home on April 28.
