Gultekin Khan, Humayun Ahmed’s first wife, tied the knot for the second time with Aftab Ahmed, additional secretary of youth and sports ministry. The couple got married at Gultekin’s house in Dhaka, completed the legal formalities in a private gathering with family and friends two weeks ago.
It is learned that Gultekin left for the United States after marriage. Soon after arrival, she will invite friends and relatives to the wedding reception.
Meanwhile, many are wishing Gultekin for finding love and got married at the age of 56. But as well as getting married at this age, the criticism is getting quite heavy. Gultekin’s friendship with additional secretary Aftab Ahmed, who is also a poet, for about seven to eight years. This friendship gradually builds up in love and love turns to marriage.
However, before the marriage, she expressed her love for Aftab Ahmed on his birthday through poetry. On August 2, Gultekin posted a poem on Aftab’s Facebook wall on his birthday which showed the depth of the relationship between the two.
Humayun Ahmed was married to Gultekin in 1973. The 30-year long marriage breaks in 2003. They have three daughters – Nova, Sheila, Bipasha and a son Nuhash. Besides, Aftab Ahmed and his barrister wife have divorced 10 years ago. His only child is currently studying in London.
