The 67th birth anniversary of noted littérateur, filmmaker and TV playwright-director Humayun Ahmed was observed in Gouripur Upazila of Mymensingh district in a befitting manner yesterday.
Katha Sahityik Humayun Ahmed Smriti Parishad in this upazila and fans chalked out elaborate programmes marking his 67th birth anniversary.
In the morning, Katha Sahityik Humayun Ahmed Smriti Parishad organised a human chain at Gouripur Railway Junction platform and urged the government and Humayun’ family to make Humayun’s memorial foundation there because Humayun Ahmed wrote a novel named ‘Gouripur Junction’ around the station when he made a trip to his maternal house at Mohanganj by train.
