A human trafficking case was filed against Awami League lawmaker Mohammad Shahid Islam Papul and three of his associates with Motijheel Police Station on Tuesday night.
Shahid is a member of parliament from Lakshmipur-2 constituency.
His associates are – Abdur Rashed, 54, Rezaul Karim, 45, and Monir, 33.
Md Alim, one of Shahid’s trafficking victims filed the case with the Motijheel police on Tuesday night, said
Wahidul Islam, duty officer of the police station.
Earlier, Crime Investigation Department of Bangladesh said that they were also investigating human trafficking allegations against the lawmaker.
Shahid Islam is the managing director and chief executive officer of Marafie Kuwaitia Group.
