Tarash representative :
A procession and human chain were held in protest of attack on Bangladesh Chhatra League leaders by BNP and Jamaat in Tarash of Sirajganj on Sunday. Iqbal Hasan Rubel, organizing president of the Upazila Chhatra League led the procession.
The incident took place at Ghosh Para in Tarash Municipality after Iftar on Saturday (April 24). Shamim Ahmed Akash, general secretary of Upazila Chhatra League, was taken to Tarash Hospital with serious injuries and doctor referred him to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital with first aid.
In this regard, Upazila BCL President Iqbal Hasan Rubel said, “We strongly condemn and protest the BNP Jamaat’s surprise attack on several BCL leaders and activists, including the general secretary of the BCL, and demand administrative action to expedite the trial of the arrested accused.”
Tarash Police Station Officer-in-Charge Fazle Ashiq said three people have been arrested in the incident. Police are working hard to deal with the untoward incident.
