Bangladesh Medical Association, Chittagong chapter formed human chain in front of Chittagong Medical College main gate on Sunday morning protesting the issuance of warrant of arrest against two physicians without any prior enquiry to the allegation.
Large numbers of doctors participated the human chain . Sources said recently a court in chittagong issued warrant of arrests against Dr. Kajal Rekha Roy and Dr. Debashish Talukder with out investigation of the . allegations. Court sources said wife of Asstt. Judge of Noakhali district court Saima Sikder expires during delivery time at a private clinic on June 3 last due to negligence of the physicians as per case filed by the mother of the victim Salma Begum. Case sources said due to negligence of Dr. KajalRekha , her daughter was s expired.
President of BMA , chittagong unit Mr. Mujibul Hoque Khan , President of Commilla BMA unit and civil surgeon Azizur Rahman Siddiqui , organising secretary Dr. Rabiul Kariham, Gyane Specialist Dr. Shahanara chowdhury, Dr. Rosy Siddque, and Joint Secretary Faisal Iqbal spoke on the occasion among others. The speakers in the human chain told that until and unless the allegations against doctors are proved by the probe committee of BMDC , none can be issued arrest warrant .
The human chain was told that if these doctors are harassed in the name of arrest warrants, BMA will be compelled to shut down the private practice in chambers and private clinics instantly.
