The authority of Jahangirnagar University (JU) on Wednesday formed a human chain in front of the main entrance of the university protesting recent militant attacks and terrorism in the country.
The university authority formed the human chain as part of the measures taken to aware the university students as well as the people against militancy and terrorism.
Led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Farzana Islam, Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Abul Hossen, Dean of the social science faculty Professor Dr. Amir Hossain and director of the Student Welfare and Counseling Center Professor Rasheda Akhter spoke, among others, at the human chain.
The VC said, ‘we must be united to resist militancy and terrorism across country’.
The VC also urged the university students to come forward to build up a peaceful Bangladesh resisting militancy and terrorism.
Proctor Prof. Dr. Tapan Kumar Shaha, Secretary of JU Teachers’ Association (JUTA) Bashir Ahmed, Register Abu Bakr Siddique and teachers, students and other staff of the university joined the protest programme.
