The students of Chittagong University (CU) yesterday formed a human chain in front of CU Saheed Minar, protesting the killing of Bangla department’s Masters Student Alauddin Alaol. The students from several departments, Alauddin’s Colleagues and teachers from several department took part in the human chain, demanding the immediate arrest and trial of the killers.
They also exposed displeasure as the killers were not rounded up though four days to the killing incident passed. The teachers and the students in the human chain said, Alauddin was quiet a gentle men and there was no record of misbehave by him to anyone in the campus.
Among others, Chair of Bangla department, Professor Mohibul Aziz, associate Prof Dr Anowar Saied, assistant professor Dr Fakhrul Islam, Dr Prakash Dash Gupta, and Lukman Kabir were present in the human chain.
Mohibul Aziz said, Alauddin Alaol was a regular student and no allegation was found against him but he had to witness the barbaric killing. Such a killing incident never be accepted. “The killers should be rounded up as the shortest possible time and for this we demanded the administration to bring the killers to trial soon,” he added.
Notable, the body of Alauddin Alaol was found lying his face down inside the bathroom with the limbs bound, the hand behind his back and ropes around his neck on March 22.
