Several hundred employees of different schools, colleges and madrasas under Abhaynagar upaila on Monday formed a human chain at Nowapara industrial town demanding opening of a branch of Rupali Bank at Nowapara industrial town.
The human chain claims that there are branches of a good number of banks at the industrial town for the importance of the area. But there is no branch of the Rupali Bank for which teachers and employees of non-government educational institutes face troubles in drawing salaries.
SM Khairul Bashar, president, Abhaynagar College Teachers’ Association told New Nation that several hundred teachers of non government educational institutions face trouble at the time of drawing of salaries as there is no branch of Rupali Bank at Nowapara, the upazila headquarters.
