Hult Prize on ‘Campus Programme Grand Finale, at BAUET

Department of CSE, Bangladesh Army University of Engineering & Technology (BAUET) has organized virtual competition ‘Hult Prize on-Campus Program Grand Finale’ recently. Vice-Chancellor Brigadier General Prof M. Mustafa Kamal was present as the Chief Guest in the closing ceremony.
Students of Dept of Business Administration Sadika Tabassum, Saqib Wahid and student of EEE Timoon Hasan and their team ‘Arrival’ became the Champion in the Competition. ‘The Revolution Starters’ and team ‘Pot 2 Plate’ secured the 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up respectively.
Lt. Col Shaikh Shameem Hussain (Retd), Registrar, Dean of Faculties, Head of Departments, Advisors, Judges, and members of the Executive Committee were also present at the closing ceremony.
Hult Prize challenge of this year is ‘Food for Good’. The main conceptual point is “Transforming food into a vehicle for change”. The on-campus program was virtually started on 6 November 2020. Among 21 participatory teams participated & presented their ideas.
The Hult Prize is considered the world’s biggest engine for the launch of for good, for-profit startups emerging from university with over 2500 staff and volunteers around the world.
It is also the world’s biggest student-centered event and crowdsourcing platform. Each year thousands of university students from 150+ countries participate, and since its inception, participants have represented 1,000+ institutions of higher education.
Run entirely by volunteer student Campus Directors, the Hult Prize On Campus Program gives students a vital role to play in changing the trajectory of some of the world’s toughest challenges, starting in their communities and countries. The annually held competition sources ideas from students after challenging them to solve a pressing social issue on topics like food security, water access, energy, and education.

The winning team will participate in the regional summit. After that, they will get a direct entry to the accelerator program of the Hult Prize. The award ceremony will be held at the United Nations headquarter. The winning team of the start-up business competition would set off to spring their business with the training on the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, business strategy, guidelines, and with a moderate fund of USD 1,000,000.
