Members of the Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) recovered 8,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from Parky sea beach area in an abandoned conditions under Anwara upazila in the district Saturday night.
Coast Guard sources said, being informed, a join team of coast guard personnel led by Lieutenant Commander Omar Faruk, of east zone, raided at Parky sea beach area under Anwara upazila at 11 pm and recovered the 8,000 pieces of contraband yaba tablets worth about Taka 40 crore in an abandoned state.
Sensing the presence of the BCG team, the drug peddlers managed to escape during the drive, he said. The recovered yaba handed over to the Anwara thana police, sources said.
