Customs Intelligence officials seized huge quantity of illegal Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) equipment weighing 2.1 ton at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on Monday.
This haul of 118 cartons were brought to Dhaka from Hong Kong on August 10,
said Moinul Khan, Director General of Customs Intelligence.
The cartons were shipped from Hong Kong in the name of computer accessories for M/S Sadia Trading in the capital, the DG said. A case was filed in this connection, he said.
Earlier, a large number of illegal VoIP equipment seized by Rapid Action Battalion from a house in Uttara area on December 22.
