Huge pressure of homebound passengers and vehicles at Paturia-Daulatdia ferry ghat ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. Private, goods vehicles are stuck waiting for crossing the river. Passengers have been gathering in the Paturia-Daulatdia area since Friday (May 7) morning to reach their destination.
Ghat authorities informed, “There are 20 ferries on the Paturia-Daulatdia and Aricha-Kazir Hat routes. Due to the pressure of vehicles and passengers, the ghat authorities have deployed 8 small ferries as well as 4 big ferries. Passengers are crossing the river at risk of Covid-19 infection without following the hygiene rules”.
