Huge phensidyl seized in city

Detective Branch (DB) of Police in a drive seized 2850 bottles of phensidyl and arrested two drug peddlers from the city’s Turag area on Sunday night.
The arrested men were identified as Harunur Rashid, 46, and Saddam Hussain, 24, police said.

 Baten said this at a press briefing at Media Center on Monday morning.
“Acting on a tip-off, a team of Detective Branch launched a drive at Dhour of Beribandh area in Turag where they intercepted a truck carrying the phensidyl bottles in a box attached below the truck,” the police official said.
The phensidyl was being transported from Jessore to Dhaka. Price of the seized phensidyl is estimated at Tk 28.50 lakh, the Joint Commissioner said.
 “We are trying to arrest the other involved persons,” he said adding a case was filed with the Turag Police Station in this connection.
