Members of Chittagong Metropolitan Police alongwith the district administration officials seized a huge amount of Jatka (banned Hilsha fish fry) from a big godown in city’s Fisherighat area under Kotwali thana on Friday .
Jashim Uddin, officer-in-charge of Kotwali thana, said the police conducted a drive in the go-down around 10am and held the jatka weighing about 20 tonnes.
The police detained the manager of the godown Piklu Das, but sensing the presence of law enforcers the jatka businessmen fled the scene.
