Huge illegal medicines seized at HSIA

Customs Intelligence officials on Wednesday seized 160 kilograms of illegal foreign medicines from the freight unit at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital.
Director General of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate Moinul Khan said the medicines had been brought from Bangkok by Thai Airways.
However, he did not mention when the flight arrived in Dhaka.
The medicines are believed to be of Indian origin and do not meet local standards, said Moinul Khan.
The officials who were asked to submit their wealth reports are Titas Gas managing director Engr Md Nowshad Islam, its deputy general manger (Gazipur) Rafiqul Islam, deputy assistant Engr Mofazzal Hossain and staff Nurul Haque Mollah.
ACC assistant director Shamsul Islam is currently conducting probes against the Titas Gas officials.
